San Francisco - The City by the Bay - is one of the most loved and most visited cities in the world. Surrounded by stunning beaches, filled with beautiful parks and rolling hills, home to some of the greatest restaurants and shopping stores in the world, San Francisco is a draw to all travelers, whether for business trips or strictly for pleasure.

Most of the hotels we qualify and recommend are centrally located in San Francisco near and around Union Square - the heart of the city. From Union Square it is short walk to Chinatown, the Financial District, the Theater District, a multitude of art galleries and amazing retail stores, and the famous Cable Car which will take you directly to Fisherman's Wharf, the tourist's haven in San Francisco.

When visiting, be sure to explore the neighborhoods San Francisco has to offer: the sights and sounds of Chinatown, the nightlife of North Beach, the swimming and lazy days of Ocean and Baker's Beach, the shopping and art galleries of Union Square, the relaxation and recreation of Golden Gate Park, the entertainment of the Theater District, the green lawns of the Marina and all the many other exciting areas.

Steps away from Fisherman's Wharf is Ghirardelli Square, a San Francisco legend for its famous chocolate factory. Also nearby is Pier 39, a great place for children and adults alike, filled with stores of every kind, video arcades, carnival rides, hourly performances, and much more. From Pier 39 catch a ferry to a tour of Alcatraz or a ferry under the Golden Gate Bridge, or take a helicopter ride over both.

The Golden Gate Bridge, the icon of the city, is an easy bus ride from Ghirardelli Square. Walk across the bridge alongside the traffic and enjoy the spectacular views of the San Francisco bay filled with sailboats, ferries, barges of all shapes and sizes and in the center of them all: Alcatraz.

Visit some of the many museums in San Francisco. Two of the finest museums not to be missed are: the Legion of Honor and the SF Modern Museum of Art. Don't miss the De Young Museum and the Academy of Sciences and Aquarium in the center of Golden Gate Park.

Also not to be missed is the Exploratorium, the science museum where all the signs say, "please touch" - a great place to bring kids. It is located in the Palace of Fine Arts, a beautiful dome shaped palace where swans swim in ponds amidst budding flowers of all different colors.
